Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to what clients most often ask before a shoot — how to prep a property, what to expect, and how to use the finished tour once it's delivered.
How should I prepare a property before a photo or virtual tour session?
A few minutes of prep makes a real difference in the final result: turn on every light in the house (including lamps), open blinds and curtains for natural light, and tuck away visible clutter, personal photos, mail, and pet items.
Put pets somewhere out of the way for the shoot, move vehicles out of the driveway and street frontage, and straighten furniture, throw pillows, and bedding. If lawn care or trash pickup is scheduled that week, it's worth timing it before the shoot rather than after.
What happens during a Matterport 3D virtual tour scan?
Our technician walks the property with the Matterport camera, capturing every room from multiple positions to build the interactive 3D tour. The same scan also generates accurate floor plans and measurements — there's nothing extra required from you beyond having the space ready.
A typical scan doesn't disrupt the space — no special lighting rigs or long setup, just the camera moving room to room.
Do I need to be home during the shoot?
Not necessarily. Plenty of clients coordinate access without being present — through a lockbox code, a key left with an agent, or a neighbor letting our team in. As long as the property is prepped and we can get inside, the shoot can happen without you there.
If you'd rather be present, that works too — just let us know when scheduling.
How does your team get into the property?
Whatever's easiest to coordinate: a lockbox code, a key with an agent or property manager, or meeting someone on-site. We'll confirm access details when the shoot is scheduled, so there's no last-minute scrambling on the day.
How do I share or embed the finished virtual tour?
Every tour is delivered as a shareable link plus embeddable code. You can post it directly to an MLS listing, Zillow, social media, or embed it on a website — it's built to be a standing marketing asset, not a one-off file you have to figure out how to use.
What if the weather isn't cooperating on the day of a drone shoot?
Drone photography is weather- and wind-dependent, and we won't fly if conditions aren't safe or legal. If that happens, we'll reschedule just the drone portion rather than delaying the rest of the shoot.
Can I request specific angles, rooms, or extra shots?
Yes — let us know any specific requests when you book, or mention them to the technician on-site. We're also happy to talk through options like drone footage, in-tour annotations, or virtual staging if you want something beyond a standard shoot.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Reach out as soon as you know — the earlier we hear from you, the easier it is to find a new time that works.
